Martinez Historical Society works to keep interest alive in our community's history and encourage visitors to the downtown museum which stores a large collection of papers, documents, photographs and artifacts.

Contra Costa County Historical Society preserves for the benefit of the people of our County, the relics of our past and provides access to the wonderful stories of the people who lived in our County, so many years ago.

Contra Costa Resource Conservation District provides an organized means for land managers and local community members to play a prominent role in carrying out voluntary, cooperative conservation programs that promote the sustainable and productive use of natural resources.

Muir Heritage Land Trust works to acquire lands and land preservation agreements since 1988. With contributing members from all over the Bay Area, the Trust focuses on land preservation and environmental education needs within the regional community of Contra Costa County, including the areas of Orinda, Moraga, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, Martinez, Alamo, Danville, San Ramon, Hercules, Pinole, Richmond, Rodeo and San Pablo.

Martinez Opera the first professional Opera company to set its roots in the city of Martinez offers numerous productions and programs to stimulate and develop the classical arts in Martinez and the surrounding communities and provides the community with productions of the highest quality as well as introduce programs that reach children, teens and adults.

Oral History Association seeks to bring together all persons interested in oral history as a way of collecting human memories. With an international membership, the OHA serves a broad and diverse audience. Local historians, librarians and archivists, students, journalists, teachers, and academic scholars from many fields have found that the OHA provides both professional guidance and collegial environment for sharing information.

Storycorps is an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to honor and celebrate one anotherís lives through listening.
